Event-based vision takes center stage at VISION show

October 4, 2021 – Event based vision will be a major theme when Prophesee attends VISION, the world’s leading trade fair for machine vision, October 05 through 07. The bi-annual show returns to Messe Stuttgart where attendees will experience the latest products, technologies and trend themes of machine vision such as embedded vision, hyperspectral imaging and deep learning. Prophesee and its partners Framos, Imago, Lucid, Macnica will be showcasing how Event-Based Vision solutions can significantly improve performance, lower power consumption, and provide a more flexible solution for machine vison applications.

Attendees have several opportunities to hear and meet with the Prophesee team including :

Prophesee will be exhibiting at Booth 8B29. Come discover our Metavision™ Event-Based Vision solution first-hand through many demonstrations. Experience an exclusive demonstration featuring the first Event-Based vision prototype of the renowned LUCID Triton camera equipped with PROPHESEE Metavision® sensor.

We will feature our Gen 3.1 and 4.1 HD sensors as well as our Metavision Intelligence Suite of design tools in several demos, including:

  1. XYT Motion Analysis: See the invisible between the frames. Discover the power of time – space continuity for your application by visualizing your data with our XYT viewer. Zoom in on time and understand fine motion in the scene with use-cases such as movement analysis, equipment health monitoring and machine behavior monitoring.
  2. Vibration Monitoring: Monitor vibration frequencies continuously, remotely, with pixel precision, by tracking the temporal evolution of every pixel in a scene. For each event, the pixel coordinates, the polarity of the change and the exact timestamp are recorded, thus providing a global, continuous understanding of vibration patterns.
  3. Optical Flow: Understand motion with continuous pixel-by-pixel tracking. Get features only on moving objects and use 17x less power compared to traditional approaches. Realize applications such as conveyor speed measurement, part/object speed measurement, trajectory monitoring, trajectory analysis and trajectory anticipation.
  4. Particle Size Monitoring: Control, count and measure the size of objects moving at very high speed in a channel or a conveyor. Get instantaneous quality statistics in your production line, to control your process.

This is a sampling of several of our key applications. Stop by or make an appointment with a representative.

Several of our partners will also be exhibiting, and we encourage attendees to check out their machine vision systems featuring Prophesee event-based vision technology including Framos, Imago and Macnica.

Industrial VISION Days Keynote:

Our CEO, Luca Verre, will present “Revealing the invisible to machines with neuromorphic vision systems” on Tuesday, October 5, 15:20-15:40 at Halle 8 Stand C70. The talk will discuss the paradigm shift Event-Based Vision represents from traditional frame-based tools. The founding principle behind Event-Based Vision – independent receptors collecting all the essential information, and nothing else. He will discuss various applications and how these solutions improve safety, reliability, efficiency and user experiences across a broad range of use cases with functionalities such as High-Speed Counting, Smart Detection and Tracking, Driver Monitoring Systems, Gesture Detection, Vision Restoration and many more.
