iCatch Technology Partners with Prophesee to Launch iEVCam: The World’s First Event-Based Smart Camera Developer Kit
Jul 3, 2023 – iCatch Technology and Prophesee have jointly announced the launch of the iEVCam, powered by iCatch Technology’s V57 AI Imaging SoC and Prophesee’s Event-Based Metavision® Technology. The iEVCam is a smart camera reference system designed for developers to deploy innovative event-based edge AI solutions across various industries.
With the accompanying edge AI SDK, it significantly simplifies the integration of event-based algorithms onto the camera device, accelerating time-to-market of event-based products. This makes the iEVCam an ideal platform for scaling event-based technology solutions in the rapidly growing edge AI market.

The iEVCam utilizes the IMX646 Event-based Vision Sensor (EVS) realized in collaboration between Sony Semiconductor Solutions and Prophesee. It offers high privacy data, high dynamic range, extreme low light performance, and low data rate. The AI Imaging processor used inside is iCatch Technology’s V57 SoC, the world’s first ASIC that can directly support EVS with edge AI. V57 AI Imaging SoC features event-based processing accelerators such as event decoder and event optical flow engine, along with computer vision Digital Signal Processor (DSP), Neural Processing Unit (NPU), and AI SDK for edge AI processing.
These features enable developers to migrate their event-based algorithms from PC to camera device, allowing real-time processing and decision-making at the edge. The iEVCam is a perfect platform for product prototyping to reduce time-to-market for applications such as Driver Monitoring System (DMS), elderly care, home security camera, traffic monitoring, and much more.
Prophesee will be showcasing a live demonstration of the iEVCam at Vision China 2023, from July 11th to 13th.
