Infrastructure
Data-efficient infrastructure monitoring
Detect movement, activity and changes in physical condition across transport networks, managed spaces and distributed assets – in real time and without the constant video load.
Prophesee’s Event-Based Vision systems generate sparse, change-driven data to reduce bandwidth, processing and unnecessary visual information while maintaining reliable perception in difficult lighting – supporting faster response and privacy-conscious monitoring at the edge.

Infrastructure applications
Railway and overhead-line monitoring
Overhead-line systems can develop faults such as missing components, wire instability and changing geometry between inspections. Monitoring from moving trains also requires reliable perception at line speed and across rapidly changing outdoor conditions.
Prophesee enables onboard systems to observe every span during routine service, detecting catenary component presence and changes in oscillation behavior with 40x less data than frame-based video.
Typical use cases
- Catenary component monitoring
- Wire instability detection
- Missing-component detection
- Targeted infrastructure inspection
Overhead-line equipment monitoring.
Traffic monitoring and data acquisition
Event-Based Vision captures continuous traffic movement across variable lighting while processing relevant change at the edge. This enables responsive traffic data acquisition and analysis without generating complete images at every interval.
Typical use cases
- Traffic data acquisition
- Vehicle counting
- Movement and trajectory analysis
- Traffic-flow monitoring
Traffic data acquisition.
Structural condition and vibration monitoring
Physical deterioration can first appear as subtle changes in vibration, oscillation or component behavior. Event-Based Vision measures these movements remotely and continuously across multiple points in the observed structure.
Comparing current behavior against established baselines can help identify developing instability and direct inspections toward assets showing meaningful change.
Typical use cases
- Structural integrity monitoring
- Vibration and oscillation analysis
- Degraded-component detection
- Condition-based inspection
People, site and safety monitoring
Prophesee’s Event-Based systems provide timely awareness of movement, occupancy and safety events across public spaces, secured sites, remote facilities and access areas. By capturing change rather than continuously recording conventional full-frame video, it reduces unnecessary visual data and supports more privacy-conscious monitoring.
Typical use cases
- Crowd detection and tracking
- People counting
- Fall detection
- Occupancy monitoring
- Intrusion and perimeter monitoring
- Restricted-area monitoring
