Prophesee’s Event-Based Metavision® Sensor Earns Design Win in High-Performance Wearable Eye Tracker from the Industry Leader 7invensun

PARIS, Jul 30, 2025

Prophesee, the inventor and market leader of event-based neuromorphic vision technology, today announced its technology has been designed into the new aSee glasses-EVS eye tracker from 7invensun, a global leader in eye-tracking technology. The breakthrough platform aimed at scientific, medical and industrial use cases is equipped with Prophesee’s GenX320 sensor, allowing it to achieve an eye movement sampling rate of up to 1000Hz. It marks a significant leap forward for eye-tracking technology in natural-scene research and dynamic behavior capture, offering a more powerful tool for research and industrial applications.

The Prophesee technology strengthens 7invensun’s position in a multi-billion-dollar global market for eye-tracking technologies, with particularly fast growth being seen in medical diagnostics and assistive devices, as well as automotive and aviation safety, and smart eyewear.

Event-based Metavision sensor allows device to capture every subtle eye movement

The 7invensun wearable eye tracker features a glasses-like design and includes the Prophesee GenX320 sensor the smallest and most power-efficient event-based vision sensor in the world. Leveraging the event-based sensor’s “change perception” capability, it responds to eye movements with exceptional sensitivity. Operating only when changes are detected, its eye-tracking sensor achieves a temporal resolution of up to 1000Hz – far surpassing traditional eye trackers. This enables the device to accurately capture even the most minute eye movements, such as rapid saccades and microsaccades.

“This is a significant validation of our technology’s applicability in the wearables market. 7invensun is a leader in eye-tracking solutions, and by enabling ultra-fast, high-efficiency tracking in the aSee platform, we help improve responsiveness and ensure more accurate and detailed eye-tracking analysis at the user’s point of focus. Our efficient sensor design also reduces the physical footprint and weight of the device, extending wearability and usage time,” said Luca Verre, CEO and co-founder of Prophesee.

Lightweight Design Ensures Wearing Comfort

Despite its powerful performance, the aSee Glasses-EVS maintain 7invensun’s consistent lightweight design philosophy. They are comfortable to wear and do not burden users during prolonged use. Furthermore, the device supports use with contact lenses and features detachable lenses, catering to the needs of users with different vision requirements.

Empowering Multi-Domain Research, Driving Industry Advancement

The launch of aSee Glasses-EVS creates new opportunities for multi-domain research:

  • In Laboratory Neuroscience: Accurately captures eye movements at high frame rates, aiding in the analysis of correlations between pupil changes and brain region activity, and studying microsaccade patterns in dyslexia.
  • In Sports Science: Can be employed to study athletes’ visual strategies during high-speed movements, such as decision-making pathways before serving in table tennis and observation/decision-making behaviors regarding environmental factors and opponents’ actions during play.
  • In Medical Diagnosis: Assists clinical research and early screening for eye diseases, autism, Alzheimer’s disease, schizophrenia, etc., by collecting and analyzing subjects’ eye movement patterns, enabling deeper investigation into internal factors inducing disease.
  • In Multimodal Research: Can be synchronized with devices like EEG and fMRI, providing eye-tracking data with high temporal precision recorded alongside other physiological signals, enabling integrated data collection and analysis across multiple devices.
  • In Human Factors & Ergonomics Research: Utilizes eye movement metrics to explore visual information extraction and visual control issues in human-machine interaction, facilitating designs that better align with human physical structure and cognitive characteristics to achieve optimal integration within the human-machine-environment system.
  • In Cognitive Process Research: Reveals eye movement patterns during problem-solving, decision-making, or memory retrieval, helping researchers gain deeper insights into cognitive processes.

“The collaboration with Prophesee is a combination of strengths, as we are able to leverage the performance, efficiency, and size of the sensors to enable the precision eye-tracking capabilities required by this device, as well as its lightweight and power-efficient design. The launch of aSee Glasses-EVS marks a significant step forward in our journey to decode human cognition through eye movement,” said Huang Tongbing, Founder & CEO of 7invensun.
