CenturyArks Launches First Commercial Event-Based Vision Camera Module with MIPI Interface

PARIS, Oct 28, 2025

CenturyArks has unveiled the SilkyEvCam HD Module, the only commercially available event-based vision camera module designed with a MIPI interface. Built around the advanced and ultra-high-speed IMX636 HD event sensor realized in collaboration between Sony and Prophesee (1280×720, 4.86μm pixels), this module delivers low-latency vision in a truly compact form—making it a compelling choice for robotics, automotive, and AGVs.

WHY THE MIPI INTERFACE MATTERS

Unlike traditional USB camera modules, the MIPI interface enables:

  • Efficient handling of the sparse data generated by event-based vision, with minimal protocol overhead
  • High-speed sensing, with temporal resolution down to 1μs
  • Seamless integration with SOCs, embedded vision platforms, and custom processing systems – without the overhead of USB conversion

This makes the SilkyEvCam HD Module especially valuable for applications where form factor, weight, and power, are at a premium.

WHY IT MATTERS IN REAL-WORLD USAGE

    • Robotics
Robots demand sensors that respond in real-time to dynamic environments – without wasting precious processing or communications resources. The MIPI-enabled SilkyEvCam HD Module offers event-driven data transmission, ultra low latency ideal for obstacle detection, motion tracking, and agile navigation.
    • AGVs & Industrial Automation
Automated guided vehicles (AGVs) in factories require lightweight, compact sensors that tolerate challenging lighting conditions. With its high dynamic range, compact size, and MIPI interface, this module fits snugly into mobility platforms guided by embedded vision-based control systems.

Whether you’re designing precision robotics or lightweight industrial platforms, this module transforms how event-based vision can be implemented.

    ABOUT PROPHESEE

Prophesee is the inventor of the world’s most advanced neuromorphic vision systems. The company developed a breakthrough Event-based Vision approach to machine vision. This new vision category allows for significant reductions of power, latency and data processing requirements to reveal what was invisible to traditional frame-based sensors until now. Prophesee’s patented Metavision sensors and algorithms mimic how the human eye and brain work to dramatically improve efficiency in areas such as autonomous vehicles, industrial automation, IoT, mobile and AR/VR. Prophesee is based in Paris, with local offices in Grenoble, Shanghai, and Silicon Valley.
